A tale of two cities!

Am a 'pucca' bombayite!!! Be it the bombay attitude.... the people.... or just watever!! i absolutely LOVE my city!!!!! No big deal.... am sure each of us love the place we are brought up in!!!

I always thought tat people frm small towns are a lot nicer than the ones frm metros. Had no personal experience in this regard but just always thought so! Ofcourse the media did hv a share in building up this notion of mine.... since they almost always project the small town girl/boy to be the nice n genuine n the loyal one!!!
But, Enter: DHARWAD-HUBLI
and the belief changed... forever!!!

I remember one of my university examiner here (BDS) asked me during my final exam frm which place i was.... the moment i replied 'mumbai', he made a very disgusting face.... as if i came frm some Red Light Area!!!! I cud hv slapped him ther bt i had an exam to clear! Now i feel i should have!!!

I am yet to come across people more sick n cheap than the ones i hv seen here!! All that they know is to pass dirty remarks...drink all day n all nite... fall in the arms of girls with wives sittin at home... Brush up their vocab everyday with the latest of abuses... and come to work the nxt day with swollen eyes n smoky hair!!! Disgusting buggers!!!! And they hv all been the so-called 'small town' chaps!!!
Such qualified men n wat pathetic mentalities!!!!
And habits tat can put anyone to shame but them!!!!

Keeping it all in mind and waiting for my day to come!!! Just 3 years away frm my safety zone!!! :)
If they like mis-using their power then.... I very well know how to use it!!!

I may be coming frm a city wer the big bad world mainly resides..........
But am glad am not frm this city wer only the 'sick' men reside!!!!

P.S- There are 'exceptions' to every rule! ;-)

Hanged by the neck until DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this the only way out??? ???

Last week saw yet another man line up for the gallows. The press, the people.. all lauded this court verdict. Infact some of the families who lost their loved ones in the Mumbai terror attacks were mum.... the death penalty to Ajmal Amir Kasab was not something they badly wanted..... rather it made not much of a difference to them! But, the country rejoiced for many felt Kasab deserves to die!! And prolly a youth tomorrow will think twice before taking such a horrendous step!

Seems fair if thought this way. But, i have something different to say! I was kind of shocked to read the quotes of people frm arnd the globe demanding Kasab's death! Do we really really have any right to kill somebody like that??? True, that Kasab's act deserves no mercy.... but is the death penalty the right verdict?? I knw very little about the rules of the law but 'Life imprisonment' would have been more appropriate! Just my personal voice! The torture in spending the rest of the life behind bars is a lot more! He is a demon to have killed a hundred people but aren't we falling into the same category by killing him???

And how does Kasab's death give relief to the families who have lost someone in the attacks??? Will the dead get back to life??? Will the sorrow of not having your mum/dad/bro/friend around reduce even one bit??? Sounds extremely strange and senseless to me!

The guilty MUST be punished but 'Blood for Blood' i feel, is a very insane and inhuman way of punishing!!!

I even read someone's response on giving kasab life imprisonment which said 'why waste the nation's money on Kasab's food and clothing and security?' In that case, why waste India's money on any prisoner..... they have all done wrong at some point!!!.... murders.. robberies... rapes... Why have prisons and keep them jailed??? Give yourself a break from this attitude!!! To stand up on that gallow and count your few last breaths can be devastating to no extent!! And, standing up 'for' such a verdict is nothing but an epitome of cruelty!!!

I know many would still disagree, and without dis-respecting anyone's opinion, I personally, strongly condemn the 'death penalty' given to Ajmal Kasab!!!! Wish i had the authority to change it! Somewer it DOES make KILLERS of us!!!

The law cannot please one and all. It has to cater to justice, no matter who is benefited!!
But, the guilty can be punished and justice can still prevail in a more human way!!

Stuck up here?????

There are times when abhijit tells me stories of his childhood in karad, a small town in maharashtra. some funny... some notorious n some as crazy as him ;-)
Few of the most treasured times for him revolve around that place n the people there he grew up with.

Today, after being in dharwad for more than 5 years, I can all but say, i had never enjoyed life as much as i did here!!! And, for the record, "dharwad is not a very great place to be in! "

With my closest of pals gettin hitched and most of them plannin to have their homes set up in the metros of India and Overseas ( wish u gals loads of good times ahead!!! :-))), it is not rare tat am asked 'why hubli of all places?? ..after havin lived in mumbai for so long?' ..'Dont u feel stuck up here???'

Am so so bored of these irritating pests!!! Grow up!!! and think wise!!!!
Gues one feels stuck up wen she/he is frustrated, unhappy, helpless n hopeless!!
And, am faar from all these!!! :-))) I was NOT forced into this marriage u know!!!!!! ;-D

5 yrs in SDM were like a dream and the dream only continues!! :)...
Glad I knew what i wanted. And did not attach too much importance to the not so important aspects! Its the people you laugh n cry with who create magical moments n the sorroundings are just a bonus!! :)

All tat we want is to be happy! And, HUBLI very well serves the purpose!!! :-)))

So, all of you who feel am stuck up here- Dont worry much abt me! ;)
Wish u many happy moments ahead!! :-)

Cheers!!! :-) :-) :-)
